Shelby Graves Scharringhausen Spangler

On December 7, 2023, with her daughters by her side, Shelby got her wings and went to be with the Lord and His angels. Her faith sustained her through years of health struggles and now she is at peace.

Shelby was born on October 11, 1938 in Lexington, Tennessee to Major Lee Graves and Lois Anderson Graves. They made Texas their home a few years later. She married Hans Scharringhausen and had two daughters. She was an accomplished flight attendant, realtor, and private pilot but her true devotion was to God and her family. Widowed later in life, she married David Spangler.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Melissa Griesbach and husband Chris Griesbach, Bridget Horton and husband George Horton; grandchildren Chase Griesbach and wife Taylor Griesbach, Chad Griesbach and wife Emily Griesbach, Hans Hunter Griesbach, Holly Butterworth and husband Michael Butterworth, Shelby Horton; and great grandchildren Peyton Griesbach, Shepherd Griesbach, Marigold Griesbach, and Beau Butterworth.

Services will be held at The Church at Horseshoe Bay on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1:30 pm. Serving as pallbearers are: Chris Griesbach, George Horton, Chase Griesbach, Chad Griesbach and Hans Hunter Griesbach.
