Agnes Marie Sanford

On February 3, 1951, in St. Joseph’s Church, Toms River, NJ, Agnes married her true love, Kenneth Robert Sanford, who preceded her in death on November 20, 2011. They lived in New Jersey, together with their three sons, until moving to Marco Island in 1976, where they had vacationed as a family on numerous occasions.

Agnes was an animal lover; there was always at least one family pet in the house. She was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing and the beach. She loved the arts. She would spend many hours at the piano, playing music for her family and friends. She was fond of and would spend her free time drawing and painting. In addition to her love for arts, sports and leisure, however, she knew the value of hard work, and often assisted her husband Ken in their Marco Island real estate business.

Agnes is survived by her three sons, Ken (Pat) Sanford of Naples, FL, Gary Sanford of Marco Island, FL, and Dan (Leslie) Sanford of Marco Island, FL.

Agnes was a loving grandmother of five, Ken, Matt, Andrew (of son Ken) and Robbie and Katie (of son Gary).

The family would like to thank the staff of Manorcare at Lely Palms for taking care of Agnes through her difficult time.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL.
