Jim was our kind neighbor--a lovely gentleman and a good friend. Joe and I will miss him very much! It was a pleasure to see him anywhere in our community. But we always especially enjoyed chatting with him at the Pancake Breakfasts at the firehouse. Those will definitely not be the same. We extend our deepest sympathy to Lori and the entire family.

Jim was liked by everyone. He was one of my Dad’s closest friends. They shared tennis and the fact they were both Michigan State grads! I am sure they are both in heaven playing some tennis right now.

Marco Island and the community will miss Jim. There wasn’t a committee he didn’t run or serve on the island. He was a good friend and a great husband to Lori. He will be missed.

The passing of my dear “Cousin” brings back so many memories -all of them dear...
When Anthony & I first moved 2 Marco Island in 2002, imagine my joy when I learned that the name of our favorite usher at San Marco Catholic Church was “Jim Curran” -also the name of my favorite Curran cousin -a star basketball player at Holy Cross.
Upon reassuring Jim that I was not Italian but Irish ☘️ we were off 2 the races! Every encounter was full 2 overflowing with the best blarney... St. Patrick was our Gr8 Gr8 Gr8
Gr8 Uncle, etc.
Jim’s wit was wonderful -not 2 b outdone by his civic leadership and patriotic pride. His love
of God & Country & Family -esp his Lovely Lori- was the stuff that makes America Gr8-again & again.
God speed, dear ☘️ Cousin. I’m sure Anthony was at the ready 2 welcome u Home2Heaven.
Love & Condolences to you, dear Lori.

I am so sorry to learn of Jim's passing. Jim was a legend on Marco Island. I was fortunate to know Jim through tennis at the Marco Island YMCA. I soon learned if you wanted something done, Jim was your man. I can still see him sitting on the verandah at the Y drinking a cup of coffee and chatting with tennis players. He was an avid tennis player and would be at the Y courts 3 or more times a week. I think he worked out every morning at the Y. Jim spearheaded the tennis drive to build 8 clay courts at the Y. I doubt the Y would have those courts without Jim.

Jim will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathy to Lori and family. Jim was a wonderful caring man. I am thankful to have known him. Connie Kormanyos
