Mr. LaPato will always stand out in my mind as being like a "TV Dad." Karen, my best friend and college room-mate, would always share family stories with me. No jeans, no red nail polish. He had everyone's respect. How Mr. LaPato supported them working through high-school, and being a real stand up guy.  A Dad everyone would look up to.  I want to share my heart felt condolences with Karen, Mrs. LaPato and the whole family.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing. Pat your in our prayers.  We were your neighbors in Addison. Frank  and Angela Iovinelli. He was a wonderful man, and you were wonderful neighbors. God bless your very big family!!

So sorry to hear about Don. Such a sweet and kind man. I knew him at St. Joseph’s in Addison, Illinois and in Marco Island, Florida. 
My sincere condolences to his lovely wife Pat and all the family. I’m sure he will be receiving many wonderful eternal rewards. My heart is with you all.

One of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. I knew the love he had for Pat and his family and he seemed to just genuinely love life. Rest in peace Don.

So many happy moments with dad and family on marco island - so blessed to have spent the time together.

We lost a great and loving,  giving uncle abd godfather.   He will truly be missed.  Heaven gained a amazing man he will put everyone in line.   I will miss him.  Love you uncle Don.   ❤️

We have lost an amazing man,but heaven has gained an amazing soul. I can only imagine the great "welcome home" party he received when he arrived in heaven. He was such a giving man. So wise, kind, compassionate and loving. He is missed. Love you so much Uncle Don.

It was our privilege to know Don when we were neighbors at Mirage On The Gulf in the early 2000's. He and Pat are some of the kindest and fun people we have ever known.

Dear, sweet man! Growing up, he was one of my heroes. Oh, how Aunt Sue & Uncle Pete loved Don. We all did. When he met & married the love of his life, we all fell in love with Pat & her wonderful family, too. Such fond memories! As their love grew, so did their family. What a legacy of love. May you find some measure of comfort in each other remembering the precious times you have spent together throughout your lives.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, & let perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul, & all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of GOD, rest in Peace, Amen

Don was a great husband, father, community leader and to us a very close and dear friend.  The sadness we feel is compensated by the many wonderful memories we shared over the past thirty-five years.  Whether it was meeting for dinner every Friday, traveling to Italy, a variety of trips in the United States, or serving together on the Addison City Council where Don was Deputy Mayor, he could always be counted on as a man of integrity, wisdom and friendship.  Don loved the Lord, served him throughout his life and now enjoys his heavenly eternal reward.
