Doug spent his childhood years in Mexico City, where he developed a deep affection for Latin America—its cultures, its languages, and its people.
Fluent in three languages, English, Spanish and French, he carried this global perspective with him throughout his life.
He graduated from The Choate Preparatory School and Kenyon College, where he studied International Business.
After college, Doug followed in his father’s footsteps and launched his career in Mexico City, focusing on international trade.
His work later brought him to Santiago, Chile, where he met his future wife, of 32 years, Angelica.
The two eventually made their home in the Marco Island and Naples area, a community Doug cherished.
A man of wide-ranging passions, Doug found his greatest joy in his son, Christopher. He also loved motorcycles, the beauty and spirit of the Marco/Naples region, and all things vintage militaria.
His curiosity, intelligence, and enthusiasm for life left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Doug is survived by his sister, Allison, and his brothers, Brian and Miguel and his son, Christopher.
The Andrews family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Doug’s wonderful circle of friends in the Marco Island and Naples communities, all over the United States and all over the world.
Your support, companionship, and kindness meant the world to him.
