

Born on February 28, 1932, Edward lived a full and active life centered around family, hard work, and staying active. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he achieved various accolades and service medals in honor of his dedication and service.
Following his military service, Edward built a successful career as an electrical contractor and owner of Phillips Electric. Through his strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to his craft, he earned the respect of many throughout his career and community.
Prior to moving to Naples, Edward spent many years in the Chicago metropolitan area, particularly in Olympia Fields, where he was a proud member and board member of Olympia Fields Country Club. The friendships and memories he built there remained an important part of his life.
After relocating to Naples, Edward became active in Eagle Creek Golf & Country Club, where he made many cherished friendships through a shared love of life and golf.
Edward shared 40 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Jan Phillips. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Michael Phillips and Richard Phillips; daughter, Carol Phillips Brouwer; stepson, Andrew Diengott; and stepdaughter, Aimee Rubinstein and her husband, Jon Rubinstein.
He was also a proud grandfather to Cameron Brouwer, Corrina Rarick, Candice Huyser, Sydney Rubinstein, Tommy Rubinstein, Saraya Diengott, and Alexandra Diengott, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Outside of work and family, Edward loved golfing, swimming, and maintaining an active lifestyle. Exercise remained an important part of his daily routine even in his final days, reflecting his determination, discipline, and positive spirit.
Edward will be remembered for his strength, independence, devotion to his family, and the example he set through a life well lived. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 E. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 10:30 am with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 am.
