on March 30, 2022. The son of Dr. Johannes Thuemmler and Helga Muller Rhein, Frank was born on
August 29, 1942 in Chemnitz, Germany. He was educated in both Germany and the US receiving his
MBA from Penn State as well as an additional Master's degree in economics. After graduation Frank
started his illustrious and decorated 35 year career as a managing director with Deutsche Bank first at
the headquarers in Frankfurt, Germany before being transferred to Brazil, Argentina, Chile and New
York. While living in Chile he received the highest honor awarded to a civilian for his role assisting the
government during the financial crisis. The medal of honor is proudly displayed in his home in
Arizona.
With his debonair movie star good looks, sparkling blue eyes, always smiling, age defying
youthfulness, love of colorful shoes, along with driving around in his classic 1961 SL Mercedes Benz
convertible he was hard not to notice. This coupled with his mastering of numerous languages, he
impressed everyone he met.
As the now often legendary story is told, one hot and humid June day while riding the 5:58 train from
Grand Central to Larchmont, New York, where he sat next to Cindy is when their lives would change
forever. Everyone by now has heard their love story, but that is what it truly was, fate brought them
together and they have been together everyday since.
Upon retiring at age 57, they would divide their time between their home at The Boulders in Scottsdale,
Arizona and Marco Island/Naples, Florida. Frank enjoyed snow skiing with his buddies in Aspen, Park
City and Zermat, golfing in Naples, Marco Island, and Scottsdale along with volunteering in his
community. In addition his love and support for Notre Dame University Football attending many
games and cheering the many wins! Travels around the world followed with Cindy and numerous
friends and family.
In addition to his wife Cindy, Frank is survived by his brother Dr. Wolfgang Thuemmler (Sybille). Sister
Barbel Fehlish (Manfred), and Sister in law Lucine Debany. As well as nephews; Dr. Dirk Thuemmler
(Tanya). Dr. Uwe Thuemmler (Linda), Jens Fehlish (Nicole), Barry Debany (Madison) and niece Sylvie
Thuemmler(Simon). Grandnephews and nieces; Jule, Till, Nele, Leni, Ida, Nils, Jacob, Livia, Sophia,
Jonas and Ari, as well as numerous family and friends throughout the US and Europe.
Frank famously quoted his father saying “ it is better to give with a warm hand than a cold hand.”
