Gary Paul Terilli, 53 passed away at his home in the Kendall area of Miami on October 18, 2013 after a brief illness. Gary lived life on his own terms and to its fullest. Born in Goshen, New York, on March 12, 1960, Gary graduated from Middletown (N.Y.) High School in 1978. He was a member of the varsity swimming team, football team and the marching band. He attended SUNY Brockport before managing a local Middletown restaurant and then moving to Miami, Florida, to attend FIU and spend the last 28 years in the hospitality industry. Gary loved restaurants, good food, rocking chairs, stray cats and dogs, his good friends and his family. An avid golfer, collector of N.Y. Giants, Marlins and other assorted memorabilia, Gary always enjoyed entertaining and the holidays, particularly Halloween. His nieces and nephew still recall being scared silly in his apartment-turned-haunted house every October. Generous and kind to a fault, Gary will missed by his friends, his father, Samuel Terilli of Marco Island, his brother Sam Jr and sister-in-law Karen of Miami and his now grown nieces and nephew, Megan, Rebecca and Sam III. All of them miss him terribly and hope his mother, Pauline, who passed away last year has finished chewing him out in heaven for not taking better care of his health and is now enjoying his infectious laughter as they remember the good years. Services will be held on Marco Island, November 9, 11:00 am at Hodges Josberger Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held by his brother at a later date in Miami and those who may be interested may contact him for more details at [email protected] or by posting a message to the online memorial at www.hodgesjosberger.com
