

On September 4th, 2025, Gertrude (Trudy) Armstrong (Heimlich) peacefully passed away to eternal life with God. She was preceded in death by husband Earl, son Gary, daughter-in-law Marian, granddaughter Sierra, mother Gertrude Heimlich (Nelson), father Charles Heimlich, and brothers Charles, Robert and Alfred.
Born in Camden, NJ on January 26,1925, Trudy attended St. Joseph Elementary and Camden Catholic High Schools and enjoyed frequent trips to the Jersey shore with family and friends. Trudy married Earl Armstrong Jr in September 1950 at St Joseph and later was a devout parishioner of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in Merchantville, NJ, and San Marco Catholic Church in Marco Island, FL. Trudy lived one hundred years with her strong faith, facing blessings, happiness, struggles and challenges having lived through the great depression and WW2 in her youth and early adult life. She used her experiences and love to raise four children Micheal E, Gary R, Karen A, and Dennis E. Trudy was also blessed with ten grandchildren Patrick, Colleen (Liam), Keenan(Danielle), Laine, Grant, Evan (Marissa), Grayson, Kelly, Paige, and Brenna. She also had five great grandchildren, Emma, Cecelia, Sophie, Deaglan, and Finn.
Trudy and husband Earl retired to Marco Island in the late 1980’s and enjoyed a life of sunny beach days and island life. Living her strong faith, Trudy attended daily mass and volunteered at San Marco. She forged many friendships with other women in the church, who in her later years became close friends and a caring support network. Her family will be eternally grateful for their time, care, love and patience with their mother.
A Funeral Mass will be held at San Marco Catholic Church on Friday, September 12th at 10:30 am.
