Harry was born in Springfield, Illinois to Edward Platt Husted and Rosemary Howard Husted on August 8th 1951. He was raised in Mt. Sterling and graduated from Brown County High School class of 1969. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1988 he began working at Condee Cooling & Electric as an air conditioning technician and later as a purchasing agent.
On June 1st 1996 he married Charlotte Condee and they lived on Marco Island. They enjoyed traveling, dining and spending time with their children, grandchildren and pets. Harry was loving and devoted to his family and answered to the names Dad, Grandpa, Pop-pop and Mr. Fix-it. He enjoyed grilling, watching football and was a loyal fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He was blessed to received a double lung transplant in May of 2011. This surgery provided him with eight precious years with friends and family. He was an active member at Capri Christian Church and enjoyed giving back to the Christian community and following the word of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward Husted, grandson Will Tichy, sister Karen Henrick, and two brothers, Carl Husted and Hayes Husted.
Survived by his wife, Charlotte Husted of Marco Island, his mother, Rosemary Husted of Warsaw, IL, his daughter, Layla (Dax) Tichy, step-daughters, Melissa (Matthew) Sarantos and Molly (Jamie) Bowden. His brother, Brian Husted of Mt. Sterling, IL ; three sisters, Elizabeth (Sonny) Buchanan of Hazard, KY, Sandra (Steve) Quinn of Mt. Sterling, IL and Rita (Mike) Ikerd of Warsaw, IL. Sister in law Betty Husted and brother in laws Tom Henrick and Donald E. (Donna) Condee II. Grandchildren; Miles, McKenzie, Elizabeth, Caleb, Colton and Mila.
Visitation service at 11:30 am on August 24th at Capri Christian Church on Isles of Capri, followed by funeral services at 12:30 with Pastor Curt Ayers officiating. Cremation burial will follow at Marco Island Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Capri Christian Church or the local humane society.
