John Thomas Litzan

John Litzan, 74, of Marco Island passed away on March 26, 2021. After fighting many health battles, he succumbed to cancer peacefully at his home, his loving wife of 42 years, Laura, by his side.

John was born in Detroit, Michigan, and served his country in the US Army, stationed in Wertheim, Germany during the Vietnam War. John worked in the construction trades in Michigan until his retirement.

John and Laura married in 1978 and moved to Marco Island in 1997 after John found his "paradise." He loved his extended family and hosted many spring breaks and countless girls weekends on Marco Island - the boat was always ready to go and his promised dolphin sightings never failed to delight. No one ever missed a trip to the Snook Inn and Quinn's on the Beach or a sunset cruise on the Marco Princess.

John will be forever cherished and missed by his wife Laura, sisters/brothers-in-law, Carol & Sean Ward, Patricia & James Carbary and Janis & Kevin Grand; nieces and nephews Erin & Sean Kozak, Leah & James Iffland, Katie Ward & Nathan Sahr, John & Michelle Ward, Colin Ward, Ryan Carbary, Evan Carbary, Sarah Carbary, Kira Grand; and great nieces and nephews Teagan, Beckett, Quinn, Adalynn and Aven.

John was pre-deceased by his amazing in-laws, Daniel and Marlene Skowronek.

A private family service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
