December 21, 1929 – December 23, 2018
Kathryne Lord, 89, went to be with her Lord on December 23rd, 2018. Kathy, daughter of Mae and Lloyd, was born in Bucks County, PA. She graduated from Ursinus College and was married to her sweetheart, Russell (Russ) for 67 years.
Kathy led a life of service, which included 31 years as a teacher. She taught first and second grade for several years but her greatest love was teaching Kindergarten, which she did for 27 years.
Upon retirement, Kathy and Russ moved to Marco Island where they enjoyed many happy years of boating, traveling, church activities, and socializing with friends. Music and family were important parts of her life. Kathy had a beautiful soprano voice and sang in the Wesley United Methodist church choir, the Marco Island concert choir, and the Sweet Adelines. She served as president of the Wesley Methodist Women and was worship chairperson for four years.
Gardening was another of Kathy’s loves. She grew beautiful orchids and was a member of the Calusa Garden Club where she served as president for four years.
All who knew Kathy will miss her warm smile and helping hands. She was predeceased by her brother, Morgan, sister in law, Joanne, and her parents. She is survived by her husband Russ, her daughter Deborah, her daughter Elizabeth (Betsi), and her son-in-law Ted. Kathy is also survived by her grandchildren: Patricia (Danny), Scott (Randi), and Erin (Evan). She was Great Mimi to Xavier, Tristan, and Madison. She is also survived by her beloved niece and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, 350 South Barfield Drive, Marco Island 34145 on January 11th at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kathy’s favorite charity, Feed the Children, at FeedtheChildren.org or to a charity of your choice.

When my husband and I moved to Barcelona Ct twelve years ago Kathy was one of the first people we met. The more we got to know her the more we realized how much we had in common...from our Pennsylvania heritage to our love of gardening and to our deep faith in God.
Kathy always had a quick smile and a kind word for everyone she met...
May she Rest In Peace.
