Kim LaVonne Baasch
October 1, 1957 – July 12, 2020
Kim LaVonne Baasch was welcomed home by her Savior Jesus Christ on July 12, 2020. Kim was born to Henry H. Baasch and Lois (Ryskamp) Baasch in Hazel Crest, Illinois on October 1, 1957. She is a graduate of Bremen High School class of 1975. She was employed as a bookkeeper most of her life and left her job to care for her father and mother.
Kim’s focus was always her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her son Eric (Judie) Wise and daughter Melissa (Nolan) Toole, and her beloved grandchildren, Vanessa, Curtis, Nicholas, Ian, Rian, Raenah, and Rilah, her mother, Lois Baasch, her sister Deborah (Edward) Skrzynski, brother Keith (Sherry) Baasch and brother Douglas Baasch and nieces and nephews Jon, Jane, Jason, Nicole and Adam.
In lieu of flowers, hug your children and grandchildren a little harder, call an old friend and go to lunch, spend an afternoon with a loved one in a nursing home, drop off some clothes, food and supplies at a shelter. Forgive quickly, go the extra mile, be kind, smile often, love deeply, and laugh out loud. Kim did all these things.
“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why we call it the present.” This is the way Kim lived and how we know she will want us to go on.
The memorial service will be held July 19, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Marco Lutheran Church.
