Margaret Mary Moores

May 23,1936 – May 7, 2022

Margaret passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7th. She was born in Denton, Lancashire England. She married her one true love Ronald in a double marriage ceremony shared with her sister Maureen and husband Neville on July 5th 1958.

In 1974, Margaret and her family moved to the USA, making their home in Mahwah, NJ. Margaret was a stay at home mum whose bright sunny disposition and wide smile (plus an English accent) won her many longtime friends.

Upon retirement, Margaret and Ronald settled down on Marco Island to enjoy life to its fullest. They loved to travel; all around the world they met friends and family whenever and wherever they could. Later in life, they discovered cruising, going on many trips with the Marco Men’s Club. Their mutual excitement and zest for fun, friendship, and family was unmatched.

Margaret was a very active member of the Newcomers Club, Sea Gals, and Just Friends, where she proudly served as its President in 2015. She loved to play Mah Jongg, and always looked forward to her Tuesday lunches with the girls.

Margaret leaves behind her daughter Patricia and husband James Shada; her son Peter J. Moores and wife Leah; granddaughters Stephanie (Shada) King, Jessica Shada, and Bailey Shada; and grandsons Nicholas Moores, Aidan Moores and Stephen Moores. She also leaves behind the lights of her life, great-granddaughter Charlotte Bruges King and great-grandson Declan James King. Also surviving are her sister Kathleen Hewitt and four nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ronald and three sisters Theresa, Ann and Maureen.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday May 12 at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 E. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in NJ.
