Mike was born in Hopkinsville, KY, where he attended “Hoptown High” as he liked to call it. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in finance. Mike launched his long-standing career directly out of college at Liberty Bank. He eventually moved to Louisville where he secured a position as Vice President of Citizens’ Fidelity which further down the line turned into PNC. At 50 years old he moved on from PNC to pursue a happier life in the commercial real estate industry. This allowed him to enjoy one of his favorite hobbies, playing golf almost daily with his friends. His passion for golf was passed on to his son who he often reminded of his 2 hole-in-ones, compared to Hunter’s zero.
Mike loved to spend time at his home in Florida, to relax and take the boat out. He was an excellent craftsman, that could figure out a way to build just about anything. Mike had an un-paralleled wit and if you spent enough time with him, you’d undoubtedly leave with a nickname, however, none that would rival his beloved Luvbunny, Emma. Mike was a brilliant man that lived with conviction, led with wisdom and always left room for humor, as evidenced by the laughter shared with his family even in his final hours.
Mike is survived by his wife Emma Howard, his children Hunter Cassady (Shana), Lisa Bauer (Jeff), his grandchildren Caroline, Jack, Ramsey, Georgie, Beckham, and his sister Suzanne Hardison.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Audubon Country Club on Sunday February 25, 2024, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
