Myron Auer Wolf (Mickey), 77, passed away September 30, 2024, from complications of pancreatic cancer. Mickey was a lifelong resident of Hamilton, Ohio and moved to Marco Island, Florida in 2017 when he retired from the practice of law.
Mickey was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on October 11, 1946, the son of Aileen Schaengold Wolf and Stuart Auer Wolf, both of whom predeceased him. Mickey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sara Straight Wolf, and their two sons, Michael Wolf of Chicago and Stephen Wolf of Los Angeles, and Stephen’s partner Sebastian Korob. He is also survived by his sister Jacqueline (Thomas) Kihm, and his dear cousins Mark (Judy) Schaengold, Susan (Robert) Davidson, and David (Virginia) Wolf, as well as his aunt Marylin Schaengold, cousins Michael (Carol) Schaengold, Howard (Teri) Schaengold, and Ronald (Hedy) Pearlman.
Mickey graduated from Miami University in 1968 and from University of Cincinnati College of Law in 1975 after serving in the United States Army. Mickey planned to be an attorney from a young age, and accomplished that goal, practicing law in Hamilton, Ohio for 42 years. He was president of the Butler County Bar Association and served on the scholarship committee of Hamilton Community Foundation.
Mickey’s family was an important part of his life. He was a loving husband to Sara and a devoted father to Michael and Stephen. He loved to talk with his sons about their lives. No event was too trivial to talk with them about – he showed his love for them through his interest and support. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Cincinnati Bengals and The Ohio State University football teams. Mickey was an avid reader, movie-goer and fan of Broadway theatre. In early life he played squash, tennis and golf, then took up running. He formed lasting relationships with the noontime running group from the Hamilton downtown YMCA. Mickey enjoyed fishing, boating, and world travel. Keeping in touch with family and friends was paramount to him.
A family service was held at Jewish Community of Marco Island on October 6, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Weigel Funeral Home in Hamilton, Ohio on Sunday, October 20 at 2:00, followed by a reception at the Carruthers Ballroom of the Fitton Center for the Arts, Hamilton, Ohio.
