

PATRICIA ELLEN O’BRIEN died peacefully at the Chateau, Moorings Park, Naples, Florida on July 8th after a 7 year struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. Pat was born on November 27, 1943 in Scranton, PA the second of 4 daughters to William and Mary (Ferguson) O’Brien. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Nancy.
Pat grew up in Manhasset, NY and was an accomplished pianist winning many competitions in her early years and was the church organist throughout her teens at St. Mary's Church in Manhasset, NY. She attended Julliard school in Manhattan before pursuing her undergraduate degree in Music at CW Post College, and graduate degree at Adelphi University. She taught in the Kings Park School system in NY and was Chairman of the Music Department prior to her retirement. She was an avid and exceptional golfer and long time resident of Naples Heritage, Naples, Florida. Pat was the family caregiver and had a magical sense of humor which kept us laughing most of the time. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was the best sister anyone could ask for.
She is survived by her sisters Barbara and Grace O’Brien, nephews Michael (Barbara) Korsak, Mark Korsak and grand niece and nephew Mathew and Ashley Korsak and lifetime friend Jane Furphy.
Visitation at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home on Marco Island on Sunday, July 16th from 4:00- 7:00 pm with a Mass of Christian Burial at San Marco Catholic Church on Monday, July 17th at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to thank the staff of The Chateau, Moorings Park and the staff of Avow Hospice for their loving care of Pat during her illness. Donations can be made in her name to Special Olympics.
