Richard was born on June 3, 1939 in Newton, Massachusetts to Richard Winslow Reynolds and Anita Duchacek Reynolds. He worked in a family-owned pharmacy since the age of 12. He graduated from Newton High School in 1957.
He went on to attend the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, where he graduated in 1961. Richard was in the Army from 1961 to 1963.
On April 13, 1968 he married Joyce Giles Reynolds. They celebrated 50 years of marriage this past April. They enjoyed traveling around the world, and the many friends they made on Marco Island. In November of 1991 he moved to Florida and practiced pharmacy at Eckerd Drug and CVS in Naples and Marco Island. He retired in June of 2010.
In 2016 he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and spent the last 16 months at Barrington Terrace in Naples.
He leaves his loving wife Joyce; daughter Kimberly Hedley of Kenilworth, Illinois; and three grandchildren: William, Rowan, and James Hedley. He was preceded in death by his two children.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 11 a.m. at Marco Island Cemetery, 489 W. Elkcam Circle. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Association of Southwest Florida, Inc. or St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Marco Island.
