Robert Jack McCarthy

Robert J. McCarthy, age 90, of Marco Island, Florida, passed away on December 6, 2025. Born in Chicago, he lived a full and impactful life, marked by his service to his country, his dedication to family, and his love for the outdoors.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Robert served with honor and commitment. He was also deeply devoted to his community, having worked tirelessly to feed the Chicagoland area for many years. His work and kindness left an enduring legacy that will be remembered by all who were fortunate to know him.

Robert was an avid fisherman and golfer, always happiest when he was outdoors, surrounded by nature. His love for life, his family, and his hobbies were matched only by his generosity and the warmth he shared with those around him.

Robert was the beloved husband of Romaine Matela McCarthy for 67 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Tami Johns (Al Kane), Robert McCarthy (Laura McCarthy), Denise Dal Santo (Brian Cowan), and the late Paul McCarthy. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to Jessica Jones (Josh Jones), Dennis Johns, Samantha Dal Santo, Taylor Dal Santo, Robert (Bobby) McCarthy, and Anna McCarthy. His legacy will continue through his great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aiden Jones.

Robert is now at peace and reunited with his youngest son, Paul, in heaven. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, December 29th, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Silver Lake Country Club in Orland Park, IL. The family invites all who knew Robert to join in honoring his life and legacy.
