Rosellen C. Warner passed away February 15, 2023 at the age of 88. She was born in Kingwood, WV on July 17, 1934 to Arthur B. Carroll and Elizabeth Koch. Kingwood is where she met the love of her life and soul mate, John W. Warner Jr. They were married in September 1955 and spent 60 joyous years together.
Rosellen is survived by her daughter, Janellen Lents and her husband Heino of Naples, FL; her son John A. Warner and his wife Elizabeth of Burke VA; her four grandchildren Andy and Alexander Lents, Katherine Senack and her husband David and John Warner; her two great grandchildren Matthew & Finn Senack. She is also survived by her brother William Carroll of Marco Island, Fl and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. She lost her lifelong friend and beloved sister Sara (Sally) Liller of Bridgeport, WV in 2011.
Having grown up in a small town surrounded by many aunts, uncles and cousins, family was always the most important thing in her life. She was a homemaker and took great joy in taking care of her family. In addition to being a most caring mother she volunteered her time at her church throughout her life. She was always engaged with her kids and became our den mother, girl scout leader, Sunday school teacher and life coach. Her love of children didn’t end with her own. She loved all of her nieces, nephews and their families as though they were her own. She spent time with them every year of her life. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always the first to show up with something fun for every occasion. Beyond her family, her love for children was evident in her decision to start a nursery school which she ran for many years.
She always greeted everyone with a smile and never met a stranger. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help a friend or neighbor. As a result she developed many lifelong friendships. It was with her undying friendly ways, Sallyoptimism and warmth that she provided us a beautiful example of how to live and love. She will be cherished forever!
Rosellen’s memorial will be held on March 1, 2023 at 3:00pm, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Marco Island, Fl.
Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mark’s Episcopal church.
