

She was educated in Nyack, New York schools and went to Russel Sage College in Troy, New York for her teaching degree. Hunter College was where Sophia acquired the degree for school administration. While attending Russel Sage she was awarded entry into MENSA.
Sophia, as a master teacher, taught for more than 30 years. In North Rockland Central School District in New York. In her early years of teaching, she was also employed in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania schools.
Mrs. Lambros had a happy outlook on life possessed a great sense of humor. She developed many friends over the years and if you were Sophia’s friend, it was for life. Certainly, she will be missed and remembered by many.
She was quite an artist and loved to paint. Her other hobbies were playing Bridge and reading. She was a voracious reader who met with her Book Club once a week while at the Arlington.
Sophia’s sense of adventure carried her to many places in the world. Before her marriage to Kyriocos, Sophia and her friends traveled to many destinations in the United States, Europe, Caribbean and the Middle East, but her favorite place was Bermuda. Travel was also an exciting adventure with Sophia.
Sophia, being faithful and adherent to her religion, while in New York was a member of Saint Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, West Nyack, N.Y. After Sophia and her husband moved to Florida they became members of Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, Naples, Florida.
She leaves behind her cousin Eleni Nesmith and her husband Johnny Nesmith, Christopher and Alexander Rotsettis, both Godsons and her second cousins from her mother’s side. Also left behind are her sons: Dimitrios Lambros & wife, Tammie Lambros and Panagiotis Lambros. Surviving grandchildren: granddaughter Nicoletta Kramer & husband Daniel Kramer, granddaughter Julianna Finnegan & husband Jack Finnegan, granddaughter Kristina Lambros-Creach & husband Marc Creach, granddaughter Rachael DiBattisto & husband Gordon DiBattisto, grandson Kyriacos Lambros, granddaughter Stephanie Paris & husband Bryan Paris, and granddaughter Gabriella Lambros. 11 surviving great grandchildren.
Sophia is preceded in death by her Parents: George and Christina Kurtsopoulos, Husband: Kyriacos Lambros, Sons: Evangelos Lambros and Lambros K. Lambros, Daughter: Eleni Lambros, Grandson: Zacharias Lambros.
Visitation will be held at Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home 577 E. Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 on September 8, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church located at 7100 Airport-Pulling Rd. Naples, Fl 34109. The burial will take place at Marco Island Cemetery located at 489 West Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145 at 2:00 PM.
