

Susan Gardner McKenzie, age 84, of Marco Island, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 8, 2022. Susan was born to Charles Holmes Gardner and Lynda Odell Gardner on August 9, 1937, in Saint Louis, Missouri.
After attending high school at the MacDuffie School for Girls in Springfield, Massachusetts, she went on to study education at Bradford Junior College in Haverhill, Massachusetts. While at Bradford, Susan made lifelong friendships with roommates Yvonne and Judy, the three remained close friends throughout her life.
She had a successful career in banking at Connecticut Bank and Trust where she reached the level of Asst. Vice President of Delivery Systems. Susan enjoyed many hobbies along with her husband Dana "Mike" Miller including boating on the Connecticut Shore, Golfing at Suffield Country Club and traveling. She was passionate about jazz music and regularly attended jazz festivals.
Upon retirement, Susan and Mike moved from Suffield, Connecticut to Marco Island, Florida. During her retirement, she dedicated her time to many local charities including Stars on the Water, For the Love Of Cats, and Our Daily Bread. She enjoyed long walks on Marco Island beach searching for seashells with her grandchildren. During her time living on Marco Island she made many close friends and always looked forward to dinner and dominoes with her "cheap chicken" friends.
Susan is survived by her loving husband, Dana "Mike" Miller, Son Garrett Jackson McKenzie wife Margaret Sander McKenzie: grandchildren; Theresa McKenzie Moses husband Scott Moses; great grandchildren, Thomas Moses and Alice Moses, Christopher McKenzie and Ann Marie McKenzie; Daughter Lynda McKenzie Gardocki, husband Peter Gardocki; grandchildren Sara Beth (Gardocki) Arancio husband Joseph Arancio and Katie Lynn Gardocki.
