It is with heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Suzanne Joan Logan “Susie” of Naples, Florida, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and remarkable woman. Susie passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 83 after a long battle with lung disease. She fought like a warrior to the end, always laughing, smiling, telling stories, jokes and giving directions to all, never wavering. She loved going to the casino, playing board games and cards with the family. She was even playing her favorite game of Yahtzee with everyone up to 45 minutes prior to her passing.
Susie was born in Manhattan, New York, on April 11, 1943, a true New Yorker through and through. The daughter of Charles Joseph Stephans (Charlie) and Geraldine Hoffman (Gerry). She was a 1961 graduate of Forest Hills High School in Queens, New York.
She married the love of her life and her best friend for 46 years Charles Otis Logan Jr “Chip”. They have two children: Suzanne Frasca who lives with her husband William McCann in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey; and Wendi Devlin who lives with her husband Desmond Devlin in Jackson Heights, New York. She has three grandchildren: Ryan McCann, Lily McCann, and Heather Devlin, who will soon be married to John Keirouz who lives in Astoria, New York.
Throughout the years Susie and Chip lived on Long Island New York for more than 40 years in New Hyde Park and Garden City, followed by 28 years in Monmouth Hills, New Jersey and 5 years in her home in Naples, Florida at Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club.
She loved to travel both internationally and domestically. Her favorite place was in the Caribbean on the island of Aruba (One Happy Island), where she returned every year for 36 years, soaking up all that the Caribbean would give her. Susie and Chip were even recognized by the island and presented with a Plaque as Ambassadors to the Island. She loved all the people of Aruba, being a foodie. She loved all the fantastic restaurants and especially enjoyed playing slots in the casino. The casino that she loved didn’t stay open all night every night and sometimes they would have to come over to her and ask her to leave because they were closing. Being as strong as she was, she said no because she was winning. So, guess what, they have been open 24 hours a day for more than twenty years after years of asking her to leave!
Susie dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Throughout her working career she always had the family as her priority. She worked in the construction business, and later in the beauty business as an owner. She always did things her way, and that’s why her favorite song was “My Way”.
All her many friends and those people that had the opportunity to meet her knew she was an outstanding force in the world - great fun to be with, very smart, kind, feisty, quick-witted, giving, a great storyteller and an awesome cook. “But she always burned the Bread”. Everyone that met her felt privileged to have met her and knew how she felt about everything and where she came from.
She has other survivors including one aunt, Theresa Mosch of Naples, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins spread all up and down the eastern seaboard.
