Timothy Lynn Crawford, age 63, of Leland, Illinois passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Timothy was born June 28, 1958 to Andrew and Marjorie (Scott) Crawford in Stoughton, Wisconsin. He was the fourth of six children.
In his younger years, he was a dairy farm boy in Wisconsin with his parents. He became a devoted father and a reverent Christian who knew the Lord.
In 2003, he met the love of his life, Sally Steinhiser, in Chicago, Illinois, and it was love at first sight for both.
In 2004, they found their summer home in Gamaliel, Arkansas and in 2013, their winter home in Chokoloskee, Florida.
Tim was larger than life, a one of a kind guy, always the life of the party and so much fun to be around.
Despite his long and declining illness, he was a fighter and overcame all obstacles until the bitter end.
He was a master fisherman and would talk to the fish below him, often saying "come to papa" or "here fishy, fishy." He was a true outdoorsman, as he enjoyed deer, turkey and pheasant hunting, camping, gardening, grilling and smoking his favorite foods. He loved to be creative in the kitchen and prepared many unique spice mixtures, hot sauces and barbeque sauces, as well as originating new recipes for family and friends to try.
His great entrepreneur skills allowed him to establish many companies including construction, towing, snow plowing and landscaping. Of late, he developed an interest in woodworking, and made many varieties and pieces of furniture and cutting boards that were given to family and friends to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Phillip and Anthony; and sister, Carol Long.
Tim is survived by his treasured, true love, Sally Steinhiser, brother James (Vicki), sister Connie Tripodis, two daughters Cristyl Choate and Brienna Famera, grandchildren Hoyt Choate, Karlie Jo Choate (and their father Josh), Zoe Famera, Caitie Famera, many nieces and nephews, as well as his best friend, Mike Bright.
We will celebrate Tim's life under the Tiki in Chokoloskee and on the Skydeck in Gamaliel in coming months. Tim was a special, great man. He will be sorely missed.
Fish on and breathe easy, Honey
