Virginia Mae (Porter) Wysinski, born on July 31, 1927, in Dayton, Ohio, went to heaven on Thursday May 15th, 2025. She was proceeded in death by her siblings Juanita Hannah and Ronald Porter She embodied the strength and resourcefulness forged by her Great Depression childhood, qualities that shaped her entire life. She channeled her creativity into building a warm and beautiful home in Old North Dayton and even lovingly sewed custom clothing for her five children: Vicki, Patricia, Thomas, James, and Jean. A bright and dedicated student, Virginia graduated with honors from Patterson Cooperative High School.
A chance meeting at Lakeside Park brought her together with Leonard “Whitey” Wysinski, a lifelong member of the Dayton Polish Club. Their connection blossomed into a beautiful love story, a marriage that thrived for 68 wonderful years until Whitey's passing in 2016. Virginia embraced Whitey's Polish heritage with open arms, finding immense joy in the lively Polka dances and vibrant summer picnics at the Polish Country Club. She also deeply cherished the friendships and community she found through her active involvement in the ELL Sorority and the Polish National Alliance.
Once her youngest child was in high school, Virginia returned to the workforce, eventually retiring as the Office Manager at Instrulab. It was through her work there that she discovered the captivating beauty of Marco Island, Florida, which became her treasured second home for over half a century. She enjoyed walking the beach on her beautiful island. Following Whitey's passing in 2016, Marco Island became her permanent residence, a place filled with countless cherished memories of family and love.
As a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Virginia was the heart of her family, renowned as the best cook and baker. She had a wonderful spirit and a deep love for music and dancing, especially when she wore her beloved gold shoes. Her family often joked about her unwavering devotion to "The Lawrence Welk Show," which, to their playful dismay, seemed to stay on television forever!
A private funeral service will be held at San Marco Catholic Church in Marco Island and a Celebration of Life event will take place in Dayton, Ohio, at a later date to honor and remember the beautiful life of Virginia. Donations in her honor can be made to Avow Hospice.
She is survived by her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
