

William M. Oliver (Billy-O) passed away at his home in Goodland on December 13, 2023. He was born in Warsaw, New York and lived in Portageville and Pike, New York and moved to Florida in 1976.
He graduated from Fillmore School and was a communications major at SUNY Geneseo, New York.
He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Vicki Oliver and sister Rosemary Oliver. Surviving are his sister Terry (Kent) Cartwright, his nephew Jeromy (Carolann) Cartwright and Jeromy's children Eli and Zane.
He played guitar and sang for the band "Friends" in New York and The "Mullet Brothers" in Florida. He was a bartender at the Little Bar in Goodland and later had a business taking tourists through the wildlife habitat of the Everglades. He MC'd many events in his community and entered contests like the Chili Cookoff and Bloody Mary contests. He was known for his elaborate Halloween costumes. He won a National Trial for skeet shooting. He was an avid fisherman, turkey and deer hunter. There was no bigger Buffalo Bills fan. Billy was always lots of fun and had a big heart. He will be sadly missed.
There will be a celebration of life planned at a later date.
