William Jennings Wahlgren Jr.

William Jennings Wahlgren Jr. (“Bill”), age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie, his brother, Stanley Wahlgren, and his children, Glenn & Sharon Wahlgren and Carol & Al Schettino. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Nicole Wahlgren, Jon & Jess Wahlgren, Holly & Eric Nikituk, William Schettino and Alexandra Schettino; and his 7 great grandchildren, Anthony, Marcus, Lucia, Ezra, Felix, Mason & Adrina. He was pre-deceased by his father, William Sr., and his mother Francis.

Bill was born in Union City, New Jersey and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Westinghouse Electric Company in New York City for 38 years starting in construction and then as a Superintendent of Elevators. He then retired and took a position with the State of New Jersey as an Elevator Inspector for an additional 12 years.

Bill lived in Ridgefield and Toms River, New Jersey before coming to Marco Island in 2005. He was a member of the San Marco Catholic Church family and devoted to the Holy Rosary. He will be remembered as a kind and loving man who put his faith and family first, and will be greatly missed by all.
