Alonza Carswell Sr.

Alonza Carswell, Sr. was born June 6, 1945 in Alamo, GA to the late Grover Carswell and to the late Willie Mae Carswell. Alonza attended Wheeler County School System, where he received his diploma. He was employed throughout Wheeler County and Laurens County areas. Later he was united in holy matrimony to the late Mattie Lee Stevenson Carswell and to this union they had 3 beautiful children, Angela Denise Hosey, Alonza Carswell, Jr., Jermaine Ranan Carswell. Later he moved to Atlanta where be became a meat inspector for Winn-Dixie Warehouse where he later moved up to supervisor. After Winn Dixie closed and moved it's new location to Florida, he began to work for Rogers Trucking Company after which he met his late 2nd wife, Carol Nelson Carswell of Marietta. He was a member of Holsey Chapel CME Church.

On June 15, 2023 Alonza Carswell, Sr. got his wings and he flew away to be at peace with his Heavenly Father. He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Angela Denise Hosey, Jermaine Ranan Carswell (Carinthia Carswell), Alonza Carswell, Jr. (Anna M. Connolly-Carswell); grandchildren, Jessica Carswell, LaToya Hosey Morton (Devonta Morton), Keisha Hosey Brown (Clark Brown), Tyrone Carswell, Monique Carswell, Kevin Carswell, Jayvin Carswell; great grandchildren, Zaar'a Morton, Devonta Morton, Zamire Morton, Javonta Morton, Jiquarius Drake, Braylen Brown, MaKaila Hosey, Samiyah Carswell, Evander Carswell, Kevin Carswell, Kaden Carswell; siblings, Bruce Carswell (Nan Carswell); sister-in-law, Shirley Trobridge; brother-in-law, Lee Hall; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Willie Mae Carswell; 1st wife, Mattie Lee Stevenson Carswell; sisters, Mary Carswell, Janice Carswell; brothers, Grover Carswell, Sammie Carswell; 2nd wife, Carol Nelson Carswell; great grandson, Treasura Lee Carswell-Benford.
