
Anne Morton Caldwell passed away on June 1, 2025 after living with leukemia for a number of years. Daughter of the late Peggy and Bud Lewis, Anne was born in Charleston, West Virginia on September 1, 1947. After graduating from George Washington High School as a class officer, she received a degree in accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1969. She then moved to Atlanta and was employed as the first female internal auditor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. There she met Ronnie and married in 1971. She then worked at C&S bank as an audit officer until she gave birth to Cam in 1976 and Clay in 1980.
After early childhood, she was employed as a part time bookkeeper for a few small firms. Anne also volunteered as treasurer for PTAs, a recreation league, her neighborhood HOA and the Jason Cunningham Foundation.
In her spare time, she enjoyed played tennis, ran road races, and was an avid walker. She had a creative passion for quilting, braiding rugs, hooking rugs and she also dabbled in chair caning. Anne was prolific and very generous, giving most of her work to friends and family.
She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend, adored by many. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie; sons, Cam (Laura) and Clay (Bree); grandsons, Hardy and Gus; sisters, Mary Rich Maloy and Cathy Cinson.
Her family would like to thank the many friends, family members and care providers who have supported her and her family through the years. Donations to the Jason Cunningham Charitable Foundation or a charity of your choice in Anne Morton's name are appreciated.
A Memory Service will be held at Olde Town Athletic Club on June 7th, 2025 from 2-4pm.
