Barbara Faye Summey

Barbara was born on August 31,1939, to the late Jim McEver and Ollie Mae McEver. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. Jesse Ray Summey, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion.

Barbara was a faithful member of Higher Ground Baptist Church and was known as a God-fearing woman whose faith guided every aspect of her life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

She dedicated many years of service working for Pat Mell Drugs and Music's Drugs, where she was appreciated for her hard work and caring nature.

Barbara is survived by her loving sister, Willie Mae Moehrke; her children, Rev.James Ray Summey and wife Debra, Susan Summey Farmer and husband Larry, and Jeffrey William Summey Sr. and wife Lynn; her beloved grandchildren, Russell Moon and wife Chelsea, Jennifer Everett and husband Andrew, Ashley Lawson and husband Matthew, Jessica Edwards and husband Bobby, Georgia Summey, and Will Summey; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Gage Lawson, Reid Lawson, Madelyn Edwards, and Harrison Everett, and nephew, Chris Moehrke.

Barbara will be remembered for her gentle spirit, devoted faith, and unconditional love for her family. Her life was a beautiful example of compassion, dedication, and Christian love. Though her family deeply mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her Savior and with those who went before her.

Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will take place at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060, US, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a Committal Service at the same location on July 15, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
