Mrs. Betty R. Brown, age 83 of Marietta, passed away January 9, 2012. Mrs. Brown was born in South Pittsburg, TN in 1928 to Richard H.and Oma Lee Rogers. She graduated as a Registered Nurse from Baroness Erlanger Hospital in 1950, and on January 26, 1951, Betty married Robert E. Brown, Jr. in Chattanooga, TN. She retired from Lockheed after working as a nurse for over 32 years.
Mrs. Brown was predeceased by her siblings Virginia Smith, Ross Rogers, Ed Rogers and Joanne Fraley. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert E. Brown, Jr.; daughters Melanie B. Trayser and husband C.J. "Buck" Trayser of Woodstock and Teresa B. Bennett of Marietta; grandsons Eli Bennett and Jonathan Bennett.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 2:00pm at the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in Betty’s name.
