Betty LaWayne Cole

Betty LaWayne Cole, age 80, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family. She fought hard to stay on this earth, but God was ready for her to come Home. She lived for God, was selfless, hard-working, and a kind-hearted lady, whose greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She truly cherished life. Originally from LaGrange, GA she moved to Marietta 40 years ago when she married her husband of 60 years, Clarence Morgan Cole. She was employed at Lockheed and then Allstate Insurance Co. for 28 years. She is a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Morgan Cole, of Marietta; their 5 children, Randall Cole, Karen Douglas (Keith), Cynthia Gould (Steve), LaDonna Wheeler (Kenny), and Kimberly Engelhart (David); 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Justin), Morgan, Brooke, Christian, Cameron, and Sydney; and 2 great-grandchildren, Addison and Cooper; sisters, Barbara Moore and Judy Boggs; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her brother, Lamar “Mossy” Mann. She leaves behind a lifetime of lasting and meaningful memories for all who knew her. Services will be held, 3 o’clock p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Roswell Street Baptist Church, 774 Roswell Street, Marietta, GA, 30060, with Dr. Nelson Price officiating. A Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road NE, Marietta, GA, 30068. The family will also receive friends at the church before the service from 2-3p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte N.C, 28201; or the Roswell Street Baptist Church.Arrangements under the direction of H.M.
