Beverly A. Plowman

Beverly Ann Roberts Plowman, “Ms. Beverly,” was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania. She lived in Tullytown, PA with her parents, Norman and Evelyn Roberts, before the family put down roots on a farm in Newtown, Bucks County, PA. At the age of sixteen, Beverly went to college at Millersville University, at that time a state teachers’ college, and received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.

Beverly was teaching in the public school system and taking graduate courses at Penn State University when she met Reverend Robert Joel Plowman and became his wife. The couple lived in both New Jersey and Delaware before moving to Marietta, Georgia, where she resided, teaching preschool at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church and loving each and every child she taught until her death on February 22, 2016. Beverly was an active choir member at Mount Paran Church of God, first at the central location, then moving to north soon after it opened. She was also a faithful member of the Encouragers Sunday School class there.

Beverly is survived by her beloved husband, Reverend Robert Joel Plowman, daughter, Barbra Plowman, daughter, Suzanne Kamm with grandsons, Tyler and Davis, daughter, Sara Lee, with son-in-law, Aaron Lee, grandson, Josiah and granddaughter, Evelyn, son-in-law, Shane Croft, with wife, Natalie, and grandchildren, Hope and Andrew. She is also survived by her mother, Evelyn Roberts, brother, Barry A. Roberts, and wife, Diana Roberts, numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, and every child whose life she touched with the love of Christ.

A committal service will be conducted at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton GA, 30144 at 9:00AM, Friday, February 26. A celebration of Beverly’s life will take place at Mount Paran North Church of God, 1700 Allgood Road, Marietta, GA, on Friday, February 26 at 11:00AM. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25 from 4:00 to 7:00PM, at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta, GA.
