OBITUARY

Bobby Ray HOUGH

December 12, 1935February 17, 2021

Our beloved Bobby Ray Hough of Smyrna, GA transitioned to his heavenly home on February 17, 2021. He was born on December 12, 1935 in Lilesville, NC to Lacy and Rachel Hough. He was preceded in death by his precious grandson, DelRay Hough.

Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice, sons, Danny (Tracy) of Marietta, Ronny (Leigh) of Kennesaw, grandchildren, Tori Philliber (Zack) of Cartersville, Erica Garrett (Landon) of Marietta, and Lexie Montalvo (Andrew) of Atlanta, great grandchildren, Beckett Philliber, Grayson Garrett, and 2 foster greatgrands. He was brother to Beverly Feagin , and his late brothers, Billy and Carroll, and had several nieces and nephews.

After honorably serving in the United States Army, Bobby married the love of his life, Alice. He began his career in printing, from which he retired at age 65. Following retirement, he and Alice enjoyed countless weeks camping in the north Georgia mountains.

Numerous activities filled his time in our world, and he was a success in all that he did. He was a racecar driver in his earlier days, an avid hunter and fisherman until recent years, and a wonderful guitarist, too. Many sought his advice on how to fix things...anything. If he didn't already know, he figured it out. His gardening was enjoyed by many as evidenced by the multitudes of people throughout Cobb County who will never be satisfied with a tomato from anywhere else after having eaten Bobby's tomatoes for decades.

Most importantly, Bobby shared the love of Jesus Christ with all that knew him, and many who didn't. Until his health failed, he was a dedicated and willing servant in his church's food pantry because he loved his community. He was a peacemaker who made this world a better place. Bob was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, neighbor, and source of encouragement to anyone who needed it.

Bobby was a man of his word-- one who could always be trusted. Truly, he exhibited a life well lived. "A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart..." Luke 6:45a

Mr. Hough was a wonderful neighbor to my grandmother, Nancy Reese, for several years. He was someone anyone could count on.

Splitting wood in the bitter cold on a Saturday morning was never a dauting task as those moments were considered special. I thank the Hough’s for sharing his kindness with my family.

Love always.

What a wonderful person, neighbor, I’m going to speak for myself & my family. Mr Hough always helped my family. .One of the smartest and sweetest persons I have EVER met keeping us warm during winter months. He would help split wood for Mother. I will always remember his smile and laugh. Mother would roll down in her wheel chair & he would say .here comes the Warden. We appreciated everything the Hough’s did for our family. Another sweet story mother had a leak under the kitchen sink he was under one side I was under the other side he looked over at me and said what are you doing? I told him I wanted to learn from him. I learned so much from him ,always help others & Trust in the Lord. So blessed having them apart of my life .

If you were a friend of Bobby's, then you had a friend for life. He blessed us with his caring friendship and so kindly shared the best tomatoes with us every year.

He was a key team player in the food ministry at Milford Baptist Church. You could always count on Bobby and you never had to check behind him because he was a perfectionist.

RIH my sweet friend. You'll be missed but we'll see you again soon. ❤
