

Brian James Tinnel, 63, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Heather; his siblings, Pamela, Debra, Thomas, and Colin; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of loyal friends.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Brian proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a member of the Construction Battalion (the Seabees). As a civilian, he earned his degree from the University of Minnesota and began a career in the medical field, starting as a lab technician and later transitioning into Quality Assurance.
Brian’s life and career eventually led him to Georgia, where he met his wife Heather in 2003. Their shared passion for travel carried them to several countries across Europe and throughout the Caribbean. An avid scuba diver, Brian was thrilled when Heather embraced the hobby so they could continue exploring together.
At home, Brian adored his dogs, took pride in his cooking and could often be found listening to classic rock or relaxing for the weekend. He was steady, thoughtful, dependable and kind. Loved ones knew him as someone who showed his love not through grand gestures, but through everyday acts of care and devotion.
Brian will be remembered for his service, his adventurous spirit and the love he shared with those closest to him.
A celebration of his life will be held 2 pm, April 25th, 2026 at HM Patterson and Son Canton Hill Chapel. The family will gather with friends following the service at the funeral home banquet room, this will be the time to visit with them, there is no scheduled events at the the residence.
