Dr. Carl Grady Palmer

Dr. Carl Grady Palmer, 83, of Marietta, GA departed this life on December 20, 2014. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 23, 2014 from 11:00 until 1:00 at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Parkway S.E., Marietta, GA, 30060. The funeral service will be immediately following. Grady was born in Sumner County, TN, the youngest of 8 children. He served for 3 years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was one of Kennesaw State University's charter faculty members who served in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation for 30 years, retiring in 1996. Grady was a member of the Powers Ferry Road Church of Christ, where he served as an elder for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Palmer; 4 children, Dawn Dunlap (John), Lisa Wood (Bill), Tom Palmer (Jill), and Trent Palmer (Micki); 12 grandchildren, Jonathan Dunlap (Krystal), Joanna Penny (David), Andrea Wood, Elizabeth Dunlap, Nathaniel Palmer (Kelly), Caroline Wood, Kayleigh Palmer, Ben Palmer, Macy Palmer, Eleanor Palmer, Claire Palmer, and Kate Palmer; and 1 great-grandson, Jet Penny. The family requests no flowers.
