Christine Moore affectionally known as Bunch was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and woman of unwavering strength. Born November 2, 1956, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to the late Walsh and Lillie Leavy Allen, in 1969, she relocated with her family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she continued her education through Milwaukee Public Schools.
At an early age, Christine accepted Christ as her Savior and became a faithful member of Freewill Church COGIC under the leadership of Elder Jessie Lee.
In 1978, Christine married the love of her life, Douglas Moore Sr. Their union was full of commitment, joy, and mutual devotion. Together, they built a strong and loving family, raising their 6 children McArthur, Joyce, Rhonda, Monica, Douglas Jr, and Melodye.
Christine was employed for many years by JW Speaker Corporation, where her hard work and dedication were deeply appreciated until her retirement in 2021. She served as a greeter at Holy Cathedral COGIC under the leadership of Bishop C.H. McClelland—a role she took great pride in. Her spirit touched many.
Later in life, Christine and her husband relocated to Georgia, where she continued her walk in faith at Greater Community COGIC under the leadership of Bishop Matthew Brown. Even as her health began to decline, her spirit remained strong. She continued to serve her community with heart, working as a Cook for the Cobb County School District.
Christine loved spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, creating lasting memories, and cooking for her loved ones—her greens and other delicious dishes were legendary and shared with joy.
Sadly, but peacefully, Christine transitioned from this life surrounded by loved ones on August 6, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Marcus Alan, one daughter, Rhonda (Renee) Evans, six sisters, and four brothers.
Christine’s beautiful memory will be forever cherished by her loving and devoted husband, Douglas Moore Sr., her children: McArthur (Sally) Moore, Joyce Moore, Monica (Damington) Dohman, Douglas (Tamara) Moore, and Melodye (Chris) Freeman. She was a proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, one brother, three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and dear friends.
Christine Moore’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was truly a blessing to everyone she encountered and will be deeply missed.
