

Constance McIntyre Hand, daughter of Matilda Black McIntyre and Lawrence Fuller McIntyre, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Connie was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC, where she attended Goldsboro High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salem College in Winston Salem, NC and obtained her Master’s degree in Education from Georgia State University in 1975. Connie taught Language Arts at Lindley Middle School in Cobb County for 21 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Blue Ridge, Georgia and designed and built her home on Lake Blue Ridge. Connie was active in retirement. She served on the Auxiliary Board at Fannin Regional Hospital, was a member of the choir and the UMW at First Methodist Church of Blue Ridge, and a member (and President) of the Fannin Retired Teacher’s Association. Connie is survived by her brothers, James B. McIntyre and Lawrence F. McIntyre, Jr and her children, Julia H. Johnson and William L. Hand, Jr. Connie was a beautiful, active, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11:00am in the chapel of H.M.
