She was born on November 21, 1921 in Manchester England. She was one of seven children to Joe Lim originally of China and Susannah Birchall Lim. She had a very happy childhood and loved math, the cinema & dancing.
In 1942 she was called up to "do her bit" for the war effort, she & her parents decided on the British ATS troops. She was stationed at Burton-on-Trent in a clerical position. While there she met our future father Sgt. Frank Hom. He was from China came to the US as a child and in the war was stationed at the same base as a cook. They married in 1945 and Daisy immigrated to the US as a WWII war bride.
They lived in MS, IL then to Memphis, TN where they lived for over 30 years. In 1982 they moved to Atlanta, GA. There were 4 children, but sadly the eldest, a son Steven passed away at the age of 7 by drowning and in 1988 the youngest daughter Peggy passed from an auto accident. Our father passed in 1993, 3 days after a trip to Hong Kong.
Daisy worked at St Joseph Hospital in Memphis for 15 years. She was active in the English club in Memphis and in 1995 she found the WWII War Bride Assn and was also very involved. She loved to travel and returned to England countless times. She also cherished being a grandmother to her four grandsons Paul, Andrew, Matthew & Richard. She is also survived by us, her daughters Susan & Lyn, her sister Peggy and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was truly a remarkable woman and weathered so many tragedies, but was able to overcome. She will truly be missed by us.
