Mrs. Debbie Phillips, age 51, of Smyrna, GA passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010. Debbie lived a rich and varied life. She graduated from Forest Park High School in 1977 and enjoyed reconnecting with her high school friends over the last few years. She and her only child, Chris, lived in California where they were able to see part of the country they’d never been before. She started working at Sprint in the mid 80’s and worked there until she died. Debbie influenced many lives in her all too brief life. Her responsibilities at Sprint allowed her to utilize her southern charm and “git r done” mentality. Debbie enjoyed many happy years in Morrow after moving back to Georgia. She met Michael, the love of her life, while in Morrow. They built a home in Smyrna and lived a storybook romance until Michael’s untimely death in 2005. Debbie spoiled many people over the years but none more than her nieces and nephews. Debbie met Rick in the last years of her life. Rick put a smile on her face and introduced her to motorcycle riding adventures. Debbie died on a great adventure in a part of our country she had never visited. She will be missed. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Phillips; brother, Ricky White, and father, Harold White. She is survived by her son, Chris Kelley; goddaughter, Angie Dupree; nieces and nephews, Ricky Tyler, Daniel, William, and Adelaide White and Lindsey and Haley Dupree; brother and sister-in-law, David and Laura White; and mother, Dot White. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 13th at 4 pm at East Cobb Church of Christ. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ciudad de Angeles, 5240 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30062. On line condolences may be placed at www.hmpattersoncantonhill.com. Arrangements by: H.M.
