Dolores Kay Aselton

Dolores Kay Aselton, age 70, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Thursday, May 21, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. She was born on February 11, 1956, the daughter of Lawrence and Pearl May Morrow Headley.

Dolores was a hardworking and talented woman, known especially for her skill as a seamstress and for her dedication during her 18 years of employment with NAPA Auto Parts.

She loved opening her home to family and friends, hosting gatherings, and creating warm, welcoming spaces. Dolores enjoyed traveling—whether it was a girls’ trip, a getaway to Gatlinburg, or visiting her beloved family in Kansas.

Dolores excelled in many areas, including cooking, sewing, decorating, and planning memorable gatherings. Her creativity and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Aselton; her beloved son, Mike Morris; and her stepchildren: Robby Aselton (Stephanie) of White, GA; Makayla Burtz (David) of Fairmont, GA; and Kadum Lambert (Brian) of Adairsville, GA. She is also survived by sisters, Katherine Thuma of Wann, OK, and Carolyn Eastwood (Melvin) of Fulton, KS; two grandchildren; nine bonus grandchildren; nieces Sherry Briggs of Pittsburg, KS, and Taniia Hymer of Chattanooga, TN; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished family friends. She was deeply loved by all who knew her.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved son Jeremy Morris, and nine siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Saturday, May 23 at 2:00 p.m. A family graveside service and celebration with her Kansas loved ones will take place on Saturday, June 27.
