Donald Louis Mathis, age 82, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on December 25, 2024. He was born in Dalton, Georgia, on September 30, 1942 to Arthur and Lela Mae Mathis. On February 2, 1968 he married the love of his life, Rebecca Yawn.
Donald graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Business Administration. After thirty years of dedicated work, Donald retired from the Georgia Department of Human Resources.
In his spare time, he enjoyed cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves. In his youth, he enjoyed being active and annually, would run the Peachtree Road Race.
Donald is preceded in death by his spouse, Rebecca Yawn Mathis.
He is survived by sons, Michael Mathis and Scott Mathis; daughter, Laura Mathis Mulvanity; brothers, Howard Mathis; grandchildren, Katelyn Mulvanity and Mallory Mulvanity and extended family members and friends to cherish his memory.
