Doris Henderson, 88, of Marietta, passed away August 15, 2011. Born Nov. 25, 1922, she was a longtime member of Holt Road Baptist Church and retired from Lockheed Aircraft. She married her sweetheart, Bob Henderson in 1940. Doris had a great love of family and friends, and unwavering faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed creating a warm welcoming home and gardening, and possessed a great compassion for others.
Survivors include daughter, Rhonda (husband, Raymond) Spornberger, of Marietta; granddaughter, Whitney (husband, Rev. Trey) Sapp; four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Sean, David, and Charli; brothers, Mack Alexander, Bobby Alexander; sister, Martha Cox; sister-in-law, Helen Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 11:00 AM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Alton Miller and Rev. Trey Sapp officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
