She was preceded in death by her husband George “Marshall” Wells, her four sisters – Alma Oates, Mildred Bates, Bobbie Wilson & Nell Oates, and her son David Wells.
Anne married Marshall Wells on November 19, 1949, and they were happily married for 67 years. They were blessed with 5 children – Marsha Wells Rhodes (husband Richard), Lee Wells (wife Vicki), Wayne Wells (wife Cindy), David Wells (wife Doreen) and Nancy Wells – and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anne loved her cats, Smokey & Bandit, and was an avid gardener.
Anne was a woman of deep faith and for the last 20 years she and her husband Marshall were members of Northlake Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA where they both served in educational and visitation programs. In addition, Anne served as director of their food pantry for many years.
Please join the family on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 12:00 pm to celebrate Anne’s life.
The service will take place at Northlake Baptist Church, 4823 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30506. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
