I first met Earlene when her family bought a house whose property connected with ours. She was in Roswell High School and I had just started Roswell Elementary School. She always loved children and we became friends especially when she came over to babysit me and my little brother. She also tried to date all my mother's brothers or at least it looked that way to me at six years old. She was a very popular teenager and cheerleader. We remained friends for the rest of my life and her little brother and sister were my best friends in high school. She and I were lost when her siblings died and our losses brought us closer together.
