Viola (aka Vi, Aunt Vi, or Sandy) moved to Gulf Shores in early 2023 to be near her brother. She was a resident of Lithia Springs, Ga for over 20 years. She loved her friends at Sea Grass Village as she spent her last 1-1/2 years making new friends.
She and her late husband enjoyed traveling and ballroom dancing with their senior adult friends. One of their favorite venues was The Cloister at Sea Island. She also worked as her husband’s legal secretary where she learned to document everything (writing everything down). During this time period she collected many beautiful articles of clothing, jewelry, and shoes because she always wanted to look like she was in a fashion show.
She was a Christian, accepting Christ as her Savior in her early teens and maintained her faith, throughout her life. She loved Dr. Charles Stanley and probably watched every video he produced.
Her family will remember her as a sweet, smiling, loving, and generous person. She was such a gentle soul.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard M. Hester, Sr and son Alan Lee Crowley.
