Edna T Blackwell

Edna Thomas Blackwell, age 90 of Marietta passed away on June 2, 2018 at her beloved residence, where she has lived most of her entire life. Edna was dearly loved by the late Alton Blackwell, her husband of over 50 years. She is survived by her two children, June Blackwell Clark (Ben) and George S. Blackwell (Theresa); four granddaughters: Shannon B. Gowland (Win), Dr. Amanda C Floyd (Mike), Jennifer C Storm (Mark) and Michelle Friesner; 11 great-grandchildren: Alex, Matthew, Andrew, Solomon, Sophia, Savannah, Stephen, Kelly, Tressa, Colin and Alexa. In addition she is survived by two sisters, Charlcie Horton and Hattie Moon.

Edna worked at the Bell Bomber (Lockheed Plant) during WWII, however she was too young to work on the floor, so she worked upstairs. She spent most of her business career as a bookkeeper most notably, at Sharp Appliances from which she retired. However, her most treasured pastime for her was spending it with family and friends. She loved putting together puzzles, driving around looking at homes with her husband Alton; local travel, antiquing, collecting antique chairs, gardening, and adored cooking and preparing wonderful feast for her entire family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from the hours of 5 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Hugh Johnson officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service and will be held at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
