

Castro, Edward 74, died Thursday, May 14th at home after a courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer's. Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many who were blessed to have him in his life. He will be deeply missed. He was born July 17th, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. Eddie was active in his children's lives. He coached his sons' baseball and football teams. He loved chaperoning his daughters' school dances. He enjoyed the shooting range with his son. Square-dancing was a favorite pastime, and that's where he met his wife Vickey. He enjoyed working in the garden, watching movies and he loved his dogs Skippy, Apollo, Rexi and Charlie Brown. Eddie is survived by his wife, Vickey Castro, daughter, Diane Phillips (Greg) of Houston, TX daughter, Corina Borel (David) of Houston, TX, son, Roland Castro (Meredith) of Canton, GA, stepson, Glenn Head (Danette) and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rebecca Castro, brother, Henry Castro Jr., son, Randy Castro, and grandson, Marshall Phillips. Visitation is Friday, May 15th at Georgia Memorial Park from 5-8 pm. The funeral service and interment will be on Saturday, May 16th at Georgia Memorial Park at 2pm.
