Elizabeth Myra Heurich

Elizabeth Myra Heurich, 95, of Marietta, GA passed away on 27 May 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Newark, New Jersey on 11 May 1922. Myra graduated from St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark in 1940.

She was married to Robert Gus Heurich on 13 Sept 1947 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Newark, New Jersey. Myra had a career as the wife of a naval officer and more importantly the mother of six children. She was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Quilting Group and had a passion for quilting, reading murder mystery novels and watching Family Feud.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bob in 1991 and son Roger in 2008. She is survived by Bob Heurich of Kennesaw, GA, Margaret Heurich of West Haven, CT, Greg Heurich of Durham, NC, Raymond Heurich of Middletown, MD, daughter-in-law Gian (Roger) Heurich of Waipahu, HI and Roland Heurich (Kristine) of Laurel, MD. Grandchildren include Emily (Sean) Banks of Sandy Springs, Gretchen Heurich of Atlanta, Sarah (Paul Egbert) Heurich of Atlanta, Luke Heurich of Raleigh, NC, Lizzy Heurich of Philadelphia, PA, Joe Heurich of Raleigh, NC and Sam Heurich of Raleigh, NC. Great Grandchildren include Caroline Banks, Wyatt Banks, and Nolan Banks of Sandy Springs and Lorelei Egbert of Atlanta.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 6 pm until 8 pm at H.M. Patterson and Son Canton Hill Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 6 at the Catholic Church of St. Ann. Mrs. Heurich will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Robert G. Heurich, Sr. at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
