Frances Cecile Sherman

Frances Cecile Sherman, age 78, of Woodstock, passed away on May 7, 2026. Born in Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, Quebec, Fran was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Cecile Redmond; her brothers, John, Steven, Nelson, and Joseph; and her son, Jeffrey Sherman. Fran is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Sherman; her son, Michael Sherman; and her brothers, Robert and Alfred.

Fran had a deep love for travel, especially to Ireland, and cherished exploring her roots in Quebec. She also found great joy and peace by the ocean, from the rocky coastlines of Maine to the beaches of Hilton Head Island. An active member of Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, Fran lived her faith through her compassion and care for others.

Known for her extremely friendly and engaging personality, Fran had an infectious smile and truly loved spending time with friends, neighbors, and family. She cared deeply about others and made everyone feel welcome and valued.

A Mass celebrating Fran’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at Catholic Church of St. Ann, located at 4905 Roswell Road, Marietta. The family will receive guests in the church narthex prior to the Mass from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fran’s memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at Catholic Church of St. Ann.
